Job summary

EDGE is seeking an Engineer II – Special Processes to develop, qualify, and industrialize aerospace special processes for propulsion programs in a greenfield manufacturing environment. You will contribute to rotating, structural, and hot-section components with hands-on expertise across multiple coating and heat-treatment technologies.

The role requires strong problem-solving, experience with NPI/prototype builds or production settings, and familiarity with NADCAP-related practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace or propulsion manufacturing.
• Hands-on expertise in at least two of the listed aerospace special process technologies: shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, chemical processing.
• Experience supporting NPI, prototype builds, or production environments.
• Strong problem-solving in a fast-paced, greenfield manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development, qualification, and continuous improvement of aerospace special processes for rotating, structural, and hot-section engine components.
• Apply hands-on knowledge of special process technologies (shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, chemical processing).
• Support creation and maintenance of manufacturing routings, process specs, work instructions, and control plans.
• Assist with process validation activities including FAI, capability studies, and industrial qualification.
• Support statistical monitoring and data collection to ensure stable process performance.
