This opportunity is ideal for educators and practitioners who are passionate about teaching modern engineering systems, control principles, modelling, simulation, and dynamic analysis to future mechanical engineers.

The successful candidate will deliver undergraduate teaching in MECH321 – Dynamics of Engineering Systems, a core Mechanical Engineering subject that develops students' ability to model, analyse, and evaluate the behaviour of complex engineering systems.

About the Subject

MECH321 – Dynamics of Engineering Systems introduces students to the modelling and analysis of dynamic engineering systems across multiple domains, including mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluid systems. Students develop mathematical models, analyse system behaviour in both time and frequency domains, and evaluate system performance through simulation and experimental investigation.

Key topics include:

  • Laplace transforms and transfer functions
  • Block diagram representation
  • Mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluid system modelling
  • Time-domain and frequency-domain analysis
  • System response and dynamic behaviour
  • MATLAB-based simulation techniques
  • Linear system analysis
  • Experimental system identification and evaluation
