Job summary

Tanqeeb in United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced financial leader to support the Vice President of Accounting and Tax. You will coordinate, prepare and review all annual financial and tax reports, and produce summaries of tax, income, expenses, cash position and net assets from historical and current operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in financial analysis, reporting, controlling, accounting, auditing and related admin functions (leadership roles).
• 5+ years in energy/trading/commodity sectors with financial and exchange experience.
• Prior experience as Financial Officer/Controller/Director with market contacts.
• Experience in a small trading company is a plus.
• Oil industry knowledge: drivers, economics and management practices.
• Commodities trading knowledge with awareness of macro geopolitical factors.
• Financial planning, profitability management, budgeting, forecasting and corporate finance experience.
• UAE tax knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support the VP of Accounting & Tax to achieve division objectives.

• Assist in variance analyses, event reports and donation reports.
• Support all accounting and tax operations: receivables, payables, revenue cycle, month-end close and related reporting.
• Drive timely monthly close and ensure accurate reconciliations per GAAP and timelines.
• Monitor cash flow and propose improvements to cash flow drivers across AR, AP and productivity.

Job Description:

-Works to support the Vice President of Accounting and Tax on division objectives

-Supports the coordination, preparation and reviews all annual financial and tax reports

-Prepares reports that summarize the actual business results in areas of tax, income, expenses, cash position and net assets based on past and present operations

-Assists in the preparation of variance analyses reports at organizational level, event reports and donation reports

-Supports all aspects of accounting and tax operations such as receivables, payables, revenue cycle, month-end close and related financial reporting

-Drives timely close of monthly accounting activity and assures accurate account reconciliations are completed according to departmental procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and accepted timeframes

-Closely monitors cash flow and develops recommendations to assure adequate operating capital is available to support projected performance, including evaluation and suggested improvements to key business drivers that directly impact cash flow such as the accounts receivable cycle by customer, the accounts payable cycle and staff productivity.

Minimum Qualification

• Master’s Degree, Financial based
• Certified Chartered Accounting Qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA or equivalent

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 10+ years' work experience in leading functions such as financial analysis, reporting, controlling, financial management, accounting, auditing and/or other business administration functions
• 5+ years working in the energy, trading or commodity-based enterprise with experience of the financial and exchange requirements
• Prior experience as a Financial Officer/Controller/Director with good contacts within the markets
• Experience in a small trading company would be ideal
• Industry knowledge -specific experience with/understanding of key drivers, economics, and management practices of integrated oil industry
• Commodities Trading knowledge - keeps up to date with international events and geo-political climate
• Financial Knowledge - financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, quality management, promoting process improvement, forecasting, corporate finance and developing budgets
• UAE Tax Knowledge

Systems Experience – SAP and CTRM platform desirable
