Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Hands-on UAE VAT reconciliations and VAT return preparation; corporate tax knowledge is an advantage.
• Experience in procurement documentation and supplier management is preferred.
• Industry background in engineering, construction, SMEs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including payables, receivables and GL.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and reconciliations.
• Handle UAE VAT accounting, reconciliations and VAT return preparation.
• Support corporate tax compliance and related financial reporting.
• Oversee procurement activities including quotations, POs and payments.
• Maintain supplier records and procurement documentation and controls.
• Monitor cash flow, assist budgeting and cost optimisation.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax advisors and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

This role requires strong financial expertise, supplier management skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Primary Accountabilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management accounts, and account reconciliations.
• Handle UAE VAT accounting, reconciliations, and VAT return preparation.
• Support corporate tax compliance and related financial reporting.
• Oversee procurement activities, including supplier quotations, purchase orders, and payment processing.
• Maintain accurate supplier records, procurement documentation, and financial control procedures.
• Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure accounting and procurement activities comply with applicable financial regulations and company policies.

Candidate Prerequisites

• Educational Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification, completed or in progress, is an advantage.
• Work Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Technical & Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Taxation Knowledge: Hands-on experience with UAE VAT reconciliations and VAT return preparation. Knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax requirements is an advantage.
• Procurement Expertise: Experience in purchasing, supplier management, quotations, purchase orders, and procurement documentation is highly preferred.
• Industry Experience: Background in engineering, technical services, construction, or small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is an advantage.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
