Job summary

Galfar Engineering and Contracting WLL Emirates is seeking a senior finance professional to lead Financial Accounting Reporting and Treasury activities in Abu Dhabi. You will prepare monthly, quarterly and annual IFRS statements, manage month-end closes, reconcile ledgers, and ensure policy compliance across projects.

The role requires 8–10 years of UAE contracting experience, proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel, with a strong emphasis on project costing, budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in IFRS and company policy.
• Manage month-end and year-end close, reconciliation of GL and trial balance.
• Monitor and control project costs, budgets, variations and allocations.
• Ensure VAT compliance and timely VAT returns in UAE.
• Oversee payables/receivables and assist with audits and reporting.
• Lead and mentor junior accounting staff and coordinate with PMs and procurement.

Financial Accounting Reporting

Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company policies Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger trial balance and reconciliations Manage month-end and year-end closing processes Support external and internal audits ensuring timely completion

Project Cost Accounting

Monitor and control project costs revenues and profitability Review project budgets variations and cost allocations Maintain accurate records of project expenses subcontractor payments and client billings Analyze project cash flows and report variances against budget

Accounts Payable Receivable

Oversee supplier invoices subcontractor bills and employee claims for accuracy and compliance with company policies Ensure timely collection of receivables and follow-up with clients for outstanding payments Maintain proper aging analysis of payables and receivables

Compliance Taxation

Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws timely filing of VAT returns and maintaining supporting documentation Liaise with banks auditors and government authorities as required Ensure compliance with company s financial and internal control policies

Treasury Cash Flow Management

Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for project execution Monitor bank facilities LCs performance bonds guarantees and coordinate with banks Manage petty cash project imprests and employee reimbursements

Team Leadership Coordination

Supervise junior accountants and ensure accuracy of their work Provide guidance and training on accounting procedures systems and controls Coordinate with project managers procurement and contracts teams for financial matters

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Master’s preferred).Minimum 8–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the UAE contracting/construction industry.Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel.
