We’re hiring a Logistics Coordinator to join our team and help manage international shipments, liaise with cold stores, transporters, and freight forwarders, and ensure smooth operations from farm to market.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team in the fruit export industry. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is eager to build a career in international logistics and supply chain management. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating shipments, liaising with cold stores, transporters, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to ensure smooth export operations.
- BCom degree in Logistics, Marketing, or International Trade
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken)
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Liaise with cold stores, transporters, freight forwarders, and shipping lines
- Manage shipping line bookings and documentation
- Perform Q67 checks and reconcile forecasts vs. stock levels
- Issue loading notifications and monitor container ages for steri market failures
- Prepare and review temperature deviation reports
- Provide vessel updates for all markets
- Update and maintain fuel prices and transport rates
- Negotiate transport with transport companies
- Send packing specifications to packhouses as per client requirements
- Verify packing orders against pack outs
- Reconcile stocks from packhouses
- Verify and reconcile all packing information
- Arrange packing lists and invoices for freight forwarders
- Allocate stock to markets according to packing specifications
- Send packing plans and invoices to clients
- Prepare and send loading plans to markets
- Ensure timely receipt of shipping documents from freight forwarders
- Update all quality specifications on in-house systems for all markets
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Analytical mindset with attention to accuracy
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within the fruit export industry
