Job summary
A mining company in Limpopo is seeking individuals for the Raiseboring Department. Candidates should possess a Matric certificate and at least one year of underground mining experience. Essential skills include safety procedures, problem identification, and familiarity with mining health regulations. Responsibilities involve reporting incidents, maintaining tools, and assisting with maintenance activities. This position requires a valid driver's license, flexibility in working hours, and willingness to relocate. Safety and reliability are paramount.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year’s underground mining and raisebore experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
- Medically fit for underground work.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and relocate.
- No criminal record and must pass SAPS and Client Security Clearance checks.
Responsibilities
- Report incidents and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
- Conduct risk assessments for new tasks.
- Ensure tools and equipment are in good condition and safe to use.
- Assist with maintenance schedules.
- Maintain proper maintenance programs to eliminate breakdowns.
- Responsible for tools and equipment accountability.
Skills
Education
- Matric certificate/ equivalent
- Competency B will be an advantage
- At least 1 year’s Underground Mining and Raisebore experience
- Valid Driver’s license & own reliable transport
- Medically Fit for underground work
- Be able to work flexible hours and willing to relocate
- Must have no criminal record
- Must be able to successfully pass all SAPS and Client Security Clearance checks
- Must be from Lydenburg, Jane Furse and Burgersfort areas
- Be willing to grow in the Raiseboring Department
- Workshop procedures

- Knowledge of Codes of Practice and Working Guides
- Understanding of Mine Language and English
- Reporting of incidents and accidents to direct supervisors without delay
- Reporting of all unsafe conditions & unsafe acts to his direct supervisor immediately
- Risk assessments conducted for every new & out of the ordinary task
- Ensure that all tools & equipment are in good condition and safe to use
- Assisting with Maintenance schedules
- Assisted with the planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule. Focus must be placed on the following:
- Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service
- Ensure that the machine is cleaned after use
- Assist the Raisebore Operator to maintain a proper maintenance program to eliminate breakdowns and keep to satisfactory requirements
- Give assistance to the Raisebore Operator with repairs or breakdowns
- Assistance with assessing the breakdown and identifying the problem
- Obtain all the necessary tools and spare parts to rectify the problem
- Be responsible and accountable for tools and equipment
- The individual must immediately report to his supervisor should he / she notices a difference in the quality of the equipment or wrong or damaged equipment which was supplied
