Senior Copywriter - BetterHome Group

We’re looking for a Senior Copywriter who knows how to shape ideas into meaningful, effective content. If you’re as comfortable writing sharp, engaging copy as you are thinking strategically about messaging, this could be the role for you.

At BetterHome Group, we help South Africans get closer to home through a suite of financial services and home loan solutions. As part of our in-house Marketing team, you’ll play a key role in crafting the voice of our brands whilst creating content that connects with customers, supports internal communication, and drives business impact across multiple channels.

What you’ll be doing

This is a high-impact, varied role where you’ll be the voice behind key campaigns and communications across the group. You'll work closely with marketing, digital, and senior leadership teams to create content that’s clear, persuasive, and on-brand.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and write content for marketing campaigns across multiple brands
• Craft copy for social media, blogs, websites, and email/SMS communication cycles
• Support internal communication and employee engagement initiatives
• Draft executive messaging, business partner updates, and marketing collateral
• Create and manage content for our Estate Agent Rewards programme
• Write for cross-sell campaigns, call centre scripts, PR, and presentations
• Edit and proofread content, ensuring clarity, tone, and consistency

Collaboration and optimisation are part of the job too:

• Work with digital teams to ensure content aligns with SEO and performance goals
• Track A/B testing outcomes across emails and digital content
• Conduct interviews and research to create original, credible copy
• Contribute to content planning, gap analysis, and brand voice development
• Guide designers and stakeholders on visual elements that support your copy

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced, confident writer who can navigate both creative storytelling and clear business communication. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects at once.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 7–10 years of experience in a senior copy or content role
• Excellent command of the English language and attention to detail
• Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• The ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences
• Strong research and stakeholder engagement skills
