Job summary
A technology company in Johannesburg is seeking an Intermediate IT Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of technology projects. The role requires managing projects within scope, budget, and timeline while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Applicants should have a relevant degree, project management certification, and at least 5 years of IT project management experience, especially in Agile environments.

The Intermediate IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing technology projects within scope, budget, and timeline. This role works closely with cross-functional teamsincluding development, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholdersto ensure project objectives are met and aligned with business goals.
Coordinate and manage end-to-end IT projects, from initiation through to delivery
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders
Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reports
Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and change control processes
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives for Agile teams
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate progress
Manage relationships with vendors and third-party providers when required
Ensure that project documentation is accurate and up to date
Track KPIs and project performance against agreed success metrics
Conduct post-project evaluations and identify areas for improvement
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification) preferred
5+ years of experience managing IT projects
Proven experience delivering both software and infrastructure projects
Experience working in Agile and/or hybrid project environments
Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana, Trello)
Good understanding of SDLC and infrastructure deployment processes
Strong command of MS Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Analytical thinker with attention to detail
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivery
South African citizenship or valid work permit (if applicable)
Willingness to work flexible hours when needed
Ability to travel to client sites (if required)
