Are you an experienced operational leader with a proven track record of driving business performance in the transport sector?

This role requires exceptional leadership, operational expertise, and strong commercial acumen, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and make critical decisions that shape the company's success.

As COO, you will work closely with the CEO and executive team to define, implement, and monitor operational strategies that align with our mission and business objectives. You will oversee cross-functional teams, streamline operational processes, and ensure the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across the organisation.

Duties :

1. Collaborate with the CEO to define the organisation's vision, strategy, and operational objectives.
2. Build an inclusive, high-performance culture and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic priorities.
3. Continuously monitor market and industry trends, adjusting strategies to maintain competitiveness and sustainability.
4. Develop and execute operational strategies that enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.
5. Oversee supply chain, finance, and customer service functions to ensure seamless operations.
6. Implement best practices and process improvements across departments.
7. Monitor operational and financial performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
8. Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and industry requirements.
9. Oversee internal audits, SLA agreements, and supplier/vendor contracts.
10. Drive data-driven decision-making through robust analytics and performance reporting.
11. Strengthen client relationships through exceptional service delivery.
12. Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding business partnerships.
13. Lead customer service initiatives that boost satisfaction and retention.
14. Mentor and develop senior managers, fostering a results-driven, collaborative culture.
15. Identify and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Job Experience & Skills Required :

Qualifications :

• Matric (Garde 12)
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or Business Management (or equivalent).
• Completed MBA

Experience :

• At least 10 years experience in the Transport Industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Functional training in Leadership, Compliance Management, Operations Management, Business Risk Management, Strategic Business Management, and Financial Systems & Controls.
• In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions (supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.).
• Aviation sector and road freight experience advantageous.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, data and financial analytics, and cost/revenue/cash management.
• Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment and Industrial Relations.
