Job summary
A leading automation company in Pretoria is seeking an experienced PLC Programmer/Application Engineer to focus on programming and configuring PLCs. The role entails offline programming, supporting local installations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years in automation commissioning and hands-on wiring experience. Opportunities to work on significant projects in the automotive industry are included.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commissioning automation equipment.
- Hands-on experience in wiring of industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with systems integration including PLC, HMI, networking.

- Offline PLC Programming / Development.
- Support local installations and equipment commissioning.
- Callouts and change requests.
Skills
We are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer / Application Engineer to join our team in Pretoria.
The position involves programming & configuration of PLC's (mainly Siemens and Allen-Bradley), HMI development, troubleshooting and / or repair.
The successful candidate will also be expected to write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc. This is an opportunity to work on challenging projects with some of the biggest names in the automotive industry.
- Offline PLC Programming / Development
- Support local installations / equipment commissioning on projects in the Gauteng region
- Support local customers.
- Callouts, change requests etc
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commissioning automation equipment
- Willing and able to travel within South Africa (A moderate amount of travel is required)
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Hands on experience in wiring of industrial equipment
- Familiarity with many aspects of systems integration (including PLC, HMI, networking, communication, power distribution)
