Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Youth Support Coordinator to empower local youth through tailored programs and one-on-one mentorship. The role blends face-to-face community work with hybrid tasks, helping young people navigate life stages and access resources.

The ideal candidate has a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 3 years of youth experience, with strong communication and program delivery skills to build trusted relationships.

Qualificações

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Development, Psychology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience working directly with youth in a support or development role.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging youth programs.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement engaging programs to support holistic development of young people.
• Provide one-on-one mentorship and guidance addressing social, emotional, and educational needs.
• Conduct outreach to connect with youth in George, including schools and community centres.
• Facilitate group sessions on life skills, career exploration and personal well-being.
• Collaborate with local organisations, schools and families to build a supportive network.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress and program outcomes.
• Assist youth in accessing educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities.
• Organise and coordinate community events and workshops for youth empowerment.
• Identify and address risks or challenges, providing appropriate interventions.
• Stay informed about trends and best practices in youth work and social support.
