Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Youth Engagement Coordinator to join the community services team in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will design, coordinate, and deliver programs that empower local youth, support their personal growth, and foster social integration.

The role works with schools, community organizations and families to identify needs and connect youth with support services; flexible hours including evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in youth work or community development.
• Strong understanding of adolescent psychology and youth development principles.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and deliver programs for youth focusing on education, life skills, and recreation.
• Facilitate workshops on career guidance, conflict resolution, and health education.
• Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and parents.
• Identify youth needs and connect them with support services and opportunities.
• Develop outreach strategies for broad participation in programs.
• Organize community events, sports, and cultural initiatives.
• Maintain records of activities, engagement, and outcomes.
• Assist in funding proposals and reports for youth initiatives.
