Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a passionate Youth Mentor and Support Facilitator to empower 13-18-year-olds in Centurion. You will mentor individuals, lead group life-skills sessions, and link youth with community resources and education opportunities.

The role requires empathy, creativity, and an understanding of adolescent development. Flexible hours including some evenings and weekends are expected to align with youth schedules. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to youth development.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Youth Development, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in youth work, mentoring, or facilitating programs for adolescents.
• Strong understanding of adolescent psychology and challenges facing youth.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and safeguarding screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual mentoring to young people on personal, academic, and career goals.
• Facilitate group sessions on life skills, communication, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with local youth in Centurion.
• Connect youth with educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities.
• Act as a positive role model and demonstrate healthy behaviors and attitudes.
• Monitor progress and well-being of mentees and document outcomes.
• Collaborate with parents, schools, and community organizations to support youth development.
• Organize and lead youth activities, workshops, and service projects.
• Assist in development and execution of program initiatives tailored to youth needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies.
