Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Youth Development Officer in George, Western Cape. You will design and manage outreach programs for youth aged 13-18, delivering life skills, career readiness, leadership, and personal development activities.

You will build partnerships with schools, parents, and community stakeholders to foster safe, inclusive environments. You will recruit and supervise volunteers, monitor outcomes, and contribute to fundraising to sustain impactful youth initiatives in George.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering youth programs and workshops.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage adolescents from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Proven ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach programs for youth aged 13-18 in George.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with youth, parents, schools, and stakeholders.
• Identify needs and connect youths with resources and support services.
• Organize youth events, community projects, and recreational activities.
• Monitor progress and evaluate program effectiveness, collect data for reporting.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and part-time staff.
• Promote positive youth development and safe program environments.
• Collaborate with partner organizations to expand program reach.
• Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts.
