Express Employment Professionals Midrand is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with strong managerial skills to lead a busy workshop in Gauteng. The role requires hands‑on Mercedes‑Benz truck maintenance, Star Diagnostics proficiency, and the ability to mentor a team of workshop staff.

Applicants should have 8–10 years in the industry, a valid SA EC driving licence, and be willing to work overtime and handle breakdowns under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must have diesel mechanic qualification and extensive industry experience.
• Minimum 8–10 years in the field with hands‑on Mercedes truck experience.
• Experience with Mercedes Benz Trucks and Star Diagnostics system is essential.
• Valid SA EC driver’s license and the ability to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise workshop staff and mentor branch foremen.
• Oversee cost, stock, and equipment control including documentation.
• Handle licence administration and manage job cards for jobs.
• Maintain and service Mercedes‑Benz trucks and diagnose with Star Diagnostics.
• Address mechanical breakdowns promptly and ensure safety and quality standards.

Job description

• Diesel Mechanic qualification
• Prior Managerial experience
• 8 to 10 years indusrtry experience
• Knowledge and experience working on Mercedes Benz Trucks
• Ability to work with the Mercedes Star Diagnostics Computer System
• Bodywork and welding skills
• Valid South African EC driver’s licence
• Solid hard worker
• Ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to work overtime and ability to handle mechanical breakdowns.
• Ability to control and manage workshop staff
• Oversee other branch Workshop Foreman and act as a mentor
• Other administrative tasks including licence administration and job card control
• Responsible for the control of cost, stock, equipment including documentation
• Own tools will be advantages
