Job summary

Farm Manager SA is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to lead a busy workshop. The role requires at least 6 years of hands-on experience with diesel, hydraulic and fault-finding, plus strong leadership and admin skills.

The successful candidate will manage daily workshop operations, supervise staff, coordinate repairs, and ensure maintenance records are up to date. English and isiZulu communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic – essential.
• Minimum 6 years' relevant experience – essential.
• Strong diesel mechanical, hydraulic and fault-finding skills.
• Earthmoving/heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Previous workshop foreman/leadership experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop.
• Supervise and allocate work to workshop staff.
• Oversee repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Minimise machine downtime and manage service schedules.
• Control parts usage and workshop costs.
• Coordinate breakdown repairs and report fleet maintenance needs.
