Job summary

Placements24 seeks a specialized Water Resources Civil Engineer to join its environmental and infrastructure team in Richards Bay. The role focuses on planning, design, and implementation of sustainable water management systems, including stormwater management and water supply infrastructure.

You will lead hydraulic modeling, prepare feasibility studies and environmental management plans, and liaise with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM) and GIS tools.
• Strong understanding of hydrological processes and urban water management principles.
• Experience with environmental impact assessments for water infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage projects related to stormwater drainage, flood mitigation, and urban hydrology.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for water supply and distribution networks.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental management plans.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders on water-related projects.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant environmental regulations and engineering best practices.
