Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Water Resource Engineer to join its environmental engineering practice in Richards Bay. You will design and manage water and wastewater infrastructure, conduct hydrological studies, and develop integrated water resource plans to support sustainable development in KwaZulu-Natal.

The candidate should have a BEng in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Pr Eng registration is preferred, and 8+ years of water resources experience with proficiency in HEC-RAS and EPANET.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on water resources.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in water resource engineering projects.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, EPANET).
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, and pumping stations.
• Conduct hydrological studies, hydraulic modeling, and flood risk assessments.
• Develop integrated water resource management plans and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and project reports.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to achieve project objectives.
