Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to contribute to municipal projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will design and implement water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems, collaborating with municipal officials, environmental agencies, and construction teams to deliver sustainable infrastructure.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering, and Pr.Eng registration with ECSA, plus at least six years'

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET, InfoWorks WS, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage projects related to water distribution networks, sewer systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water supply and drainage systems.
• Develop conceptual designs, detailed engineering plans, and specifications for infrastructure development.
• Perform environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with water quality regulations.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors to oversee project execution and quality control.
• Investigate and recommend solutions for water scarcity and pollution control issues.
