Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join the Richards Bay team in KwaZulu-Natal. You will manage water resources, wastewater systems and flood-control projects, performing hydraulic modeling and system design while ensuring environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering, hydraulics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET, SWMM, or HEC-RAS.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of South African water legislation and environmental standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution networks, sewer systems, and riverine environments.
• Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and pipelines.
• Develop and implement stormwater management plans and flood mitigation strategies.
• Assess water resource availability and quality, and recommend sustainable management practices.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements for water-related projects.
• Prepare technical reports, design documents, and project proposals related to water resource management.
