Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer in Vereeniging to lead water resources design and management initiatives. You will oversee the planning, design, and construction of water supply systems, assess hydrological data, and develop strategies for efficient water use and conservation.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology, plus Pr Eng registration with ECSA and at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resources engineering and infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, HEC-RAS) and GIS tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the construction of water supply systems, dams, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
- Conduct hydrological studies and water balance assessments to inform resource management strategies.
- Develop plans for flood control, drought management, and water conservation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with water quality standards and environmental regulations.
- Manage water infrastructure projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
- Analyze water network performance and implement measures for operational efficiency and leak detection.
