Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Pretoria to lead design and delivery of water infrastructure projects across Gauteng. You will manage hydrological studies, modeling, and water balance analyses within a hybrid work model, collaborating with engineers and regulatory teams.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree focused on water resources, 6+ years of experience, and ECSA registration. Strong project management and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resource engineering and management.
• Professional registration with ECSA.
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM, EPANET).
• Strong understanding of South African water law, policies, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement water resource management projects, including dams, pipelines, canals, and treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydrological studies, hydraulic modeling, and water balance analyses to assess water availability and demand.
• Develop strategies for stormwater management, flood control, and wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Prepare detailed designs, technical reports, and environmental impact assessments.
• Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant national and provincial water resource legislation and standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications effectively.
