Job summary

Clicks Group's United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD) Roodepoort distribution site seeks a permanent Warehouse Supervisor (Distribution) to oversee picking, checking, packing and dispatch, ensuring Wholesale and Distribution Practice is applied.

You will report to the Department Manager and drive accuracy, efficiency and safety by managing staff, improving cycle times, maintaining equipment uptime and ensuring compliance with SOPs (SHEQ, QA).

Qualifications

• 3 year Diploma or Degree in Logistics.
• 3 - 10 years’ experience in a logistics environment.
• EE position (Yes).

Responsibilities

• Supervise picking, checking, packing and dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and company policies (SHEQ, QA).
• Manage productivity, capacity, cycle times and staffing utilization.
• Oversee equipment uptime and maintenance.
• Provide daily performance and order status reporting.
• Meet daily operational targets including transfers and second run cut-offs.
• Oversee stock transfers and orders with timely processing.
• Conduct cycle counts and bin checks.
• Manage stock returns put-away.
• Staff performance management, training & discipline.
• Set targets for direct reports and manage overtime when required.

Introduction

We are looking to recruit a permanent Warehouse Supervisor (Distribution) to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Roodepoort branch and will report to the Department Manager.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the effective and accurate management and control of picking, checking and packing teams within the warehouse ensuring good Wholesale and Distribution Practice is applied.

Key Performance Areas:

• Effective supervision and control of the picking, checking, packing and dispatch functions
• Adherence to compliance SOP’s and company policies (SHEQ, QA)
• Productivity management – capacity management, order processing cycle time, manning utilization, unplanned downtime
• Equipment up-time and maintenance -Asset inspections and reports are performed as required
• Reporting on daily performance and Order status
• Attainment of daily operational targets including cut off times for the second run
• Order process within required turnaround times (Transfers and sales orders)
• Conduct and supervise cycle counting and bin check process
• The put away of returned stock
• Management of quality and output levels
• Performance management of staff, staff training and discipline
• Set targets and deadlines for direct reports
• Assistance with stock counts within FMCG, PDC and Distribution
• Control and resolution of order disputes / claims internally and externally
• Manage staff compliment for overtime when required
