Responsibilities

• Inventory management: Monitor stock, review packing lists and confirm stock availability after unpacking to be available for dispatch.
• Receiving and dispatching: Oversee receipt and dispatch of goods and ensure checks against inwards paperwork.
• Safety and compliance: Enforce safety procedures and policies throughout the warehouse.
• Vehicle management: Manage vehicle maintenance and upkeep; coordinate between sites.
• Warehousing processes: Align roles across Durban and other locations; back-up for Warehouse Manager.
• WMS support: Assist with label creation for pallets across warehouses.

Warehouse Assistant position available in Durban, KZN.

We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Assistant for a full time position based in Durban, Kwazulu Natal.

Salary: R30 000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience with benefits.

• Should be familiar with warehouse procedures and have good communication skills to interact with internal teams

Key Performance Areas:

• Inventory management:
  • Monitor stock, review packing lists and confirm stock availability after unpacking to be available for dispatch
  • Ensure products are stored correctly and efficiently
  • Manage stock movements between Johannesburg, Cape Town, PE and EL
  • Investigate and resolve inventory errors or mismatches
  • Durban samples supervision and dispatch
• Receiving and dispatching:
  • Oversee the receipt and dispatch of goods ensuring all staff comply with company procedures
  • Ensure all incoming goods are checked for damage and accuracy against inwards goods notification paperwork - arrange for quarantine of damaged goods for review prior to storing - notify Warehouse Manager and Procurement Manager of damaged incoming goods and follow up on action to resolve the issue
  • Coordinate dispatch, ensuring goods match outgoing documentation - ensure goods are packed and labelled correctly for dispatch
• Safety and compliance:
  • Enforce safety procedures, regulations and policies throughout the warehouse - work closely with the Warehouse Manager Durban to ensure policies are implemented
• Vehicle management:
  • Manage Cape Town vehicle - service, repairs and general upkeep - monitor and report on issues
  • Warehouse process
  • Work with the Durban Warehouse Manager to align all roles equally across both roles and gain knowledge of all aspects of the warehouse function and responsibilities
  • Back-up for Warehouse Manager in their absence
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) - Assist with label creation for all warehouses for pallets
