Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the daily operations of our warehouse facility in Springfield, Durban. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient warehouse processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing staff and fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, including picking, checking, dispatching, and receiving of goods
• Ensure accurate inventory control and stock management at all times
• Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure productivity and efficiency
• Manage and monitor dispatch processes to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Oversee vehicle fleet operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and compliance
• Maintain accurate administrative records and reporting related to warehouse activities
• Implement and enforce health and safety standards within the warehouse
• Assist in process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (required)
• Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a warehouse environment
• Experience in a high-volume warehouse environment
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proven experience in: Inventory management, Picking and checking processes, Dispatching operations, Vehicle fleet management, Warehouse administration
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Strong communication skills
