Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Engineer to support development and execution of solar and wind projects in the Northern Cape, based in Upington. This hands-on role covers technical design, project coordination, and on-site supervision to ensure projects are built to specification, on time, and within budget.

You will work closely with project managers, EPC contractors, and site teams to overcome technical challenges and deliver high-quality renewable energy installations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering, preferably renewable energy.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy engineering principles and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with project management software and construction oversight.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to commissioning.
• Review and approve detailed engineering designs and calculations for solar PV and wind energy systems.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Oversee site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during construction and commissioning phases.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for project close-out.
