You will be involved in the design, development, and implementation of solar and wind energy systems, contributing to the growth of sustainable power solutions in the region. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles as applied to renewable technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, efficient, and reliable clean energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for solar PV farms and wind turbine installations.


• Develop single-line diagrams, protection schemes , and electrical layouts.


• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit analysis, and grid interconnection studies.


• Specify and select electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cables.


• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems on-site.


• Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant South African and international standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.


• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects.


• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).


• Solid understanding of grid codes and interconnection requirements for renewable energy.


• Experience with battery energy storage systems is a plus.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with good communication skills.
