Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for a Head of Human Resources to lead all HR functions for our Upington operations. The role demands strategic, hands-on leadership to shape HR policy, drive labour law compliance, and support growth with a strong focus on people development.

You will oversee recruitment, compensation & benefits, performance management, and employee relations, while maintaining an inclusive culture and a robust HRIS toolkit. This is a high-visibility, on-site leadership position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HR leadership roles.
• Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and talent development.
• Strong knowledge of South African labor law and HR best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee talent acquisition and recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent.
• Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
• Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and fairness.
• Develop and implement performance management systems and processes.
• Create and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws.
• Oversee employee onboarding, training, and development programs.
• Manage HR budgets and ensure cost-effective HR operations.
• Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on all HR-related matters.
