Placements24 is looking for a Telecoms Broadband Technician to join our field operations in Soweto. You will install, configure, and maintain broadband services at customer premises, troubleshoot Wi‑Fi and network issues, and educate customers on setup and basic troubleshooting.

The role requires hands-on field work, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate documentation of service activities. A valid driver’s license and comfortable customer interaction are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Broadband Technician or similar role.
• Knowledge of DSL, Cable, Fiber and home networking.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and activate broadband internet services at residential and business customer premises.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to internet connectivity, Wi‑Fi, and associated equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on customer premise equipment (CPE) and network drop points.
• Test network performance and signal strength to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Educate customers on their service setup, usage, and basic troubleshooting steps.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies while on customer sites.
• Accurately document all service calls, including technical findings and actions taken.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Broadband Technician , Cable Technician, or similar role.
• Solid understanding of broadband technologies (DSL, Cable, Fiber) and home networking (routers, Wi‑Fi).
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
