Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Technician for field operations based in Tembisa. You will install, maintain, and repair telecom equipment at customer sites and network facilities to ensure reliable service and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on technical aptitude, safety adherence, and the ability to travel within the region for on-site support in the community.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role, preferably in telecoms.
• Proficiency with test equipment and field diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain telecommunications hardware, including base stations, antennas, and fiber optics.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity and equipment malfunctions in the field.
• Respond to service outages and emergency repair calls promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to company policies and standards.
• Provide clear reports on work performed, including technical details and resolutions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when required.
