Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a leading telecommunications provider in Benoni, Gauteng, to hire a vigilant Telecom Network Security Analyst. This hybrid role balances on-site collaboration with security and infrastructure teams, with some remote work.

You will monitor security infrastructure, analyze logs, investigate incidents, and implement protective measures across the telecom network, staying ahead of threats and contributing to safeguarding essential services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in related field.
• Minimum 4 years of network security analysis experience in telecom.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and network security concepts.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and EDR tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Analyze network traffic patterns and logs to detect threats.
• Investigate security incidents and contain breaches.
• Develop and maintain security policies and procedures for the telecom network.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems.
• Implement security controls to protect against malware and phishing.
• Stay updated on cyber threats and mitigations for telecom.
• Collaborate with IT and network teams to implement security solutions.
• Respond to security alerts and manage incident response.
• Prepare regular reports on security status and improvements.
