Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Network Security Specialist to protect critical network infrastructure in Port Elizabeth. You will implement and manage security measures, monitor for breaches, and respond to incidents to ensure data integrity and availability across telecommunications systems.

The role requires a minimum of five years in network security within telecoms, strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption, and security frameworks such as ISO 27001/NIST.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of network security experience in a telecom environment.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and encryption techniques.
• Experience with ISO 27001 and NIST frameworks.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CCSP.
• Analytical, independent, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Monitor network traffic and security logs for anomalies.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and enforce security policies and best practices.
• Respond to security incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity threats in telecommunications.
