Placements24 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Infrastructure Manager to lead the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing management of all telecom infrastructure, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure services for our client.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 10+ years of progressive telecom infrastructure experience, and proven ability to manage large-scale deployments, budgets, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Telecommunications/Electrical/CS).
• Minimum 10 years in telecommunications infrastructure management.
• Experience managing large-scale network deployment projects.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional team management skills.
• Deep knowledge of fiber optics, microwave, and wireless networks.
• Experience with budgets and cost control for projects.
• Familiarity with PMP or other project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for infrastructure expansion and upgrades.
• Lead a team of network engineers, technicians, and project managers.
• Oversee budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and policies.
• Lead troubleshooting and preventative maintenance for complex networks.
• Evaluate and select new technologies and vendors.
• Manage relationships with third-party contractors and service providers.
• Develop documentation of network infrastructure and procedures.
• Report infrastructure performance and project status to senior management.
