Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Sales Engineer for the Refining and Chemicals, Renewable Energy and Industrial Gases sectors to join the Flow Control team in South Africa. You will promote the full range of Flow Control products, visit customers, provide tailored technical solutions and prepare quotations to close orders.

You will bring 2-5 years in technical sales, strong valve/actuator knowledge, and English fluency; willingness to travel four days a week is essential for regional coverage.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering.
• Experience in valve sizing, quotation preparation and order closing.
• Strong technical knowledge of valves, actuators and pumps.
• Fluent in English and comfortable with extensive travel.
• Familiarity with Refining, Chemicals, Renewable Energy or Industrial Gases sectors.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell Valmet Flow Control's full range of products and services.
• Visit existing and potential customers to assess needs and provide tailored technical solutions.
• Provide product recommendations and technical support, including valve sizing and selection.
• Prepare accurate quotations and actively follow up to close orders.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms within authorized limits.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop strong, long-term customer relationships.
• Prepare and submit monthly sales reports on past performance, current pipeline, and prospects.
• Share customer feedback and market insights with internal stakeholders to support business strategy.
• Travel extensively within the region (around four days per week).
