Job summary

GetWiza in Durbanville, Cape Town, seeks a Junior Technical Support & Field Technician to combine field visits with first‑line technical support. You will assist residential and business clients remotely and travel to sites for FTTH, Wi‑Fi, and basic networking tasks.

A positive attitude and willingness to learn are valued, with structured training provided during the first three months. The role offers a clear development path and a monthly CTC package in the R15,000–R18,000 range.

Qualifications

• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Reliable personal transport.
• Basic knowledge of internet connections, routers and Wi‑Fi.
• Comfortable working with computers and mobile applications.
• Clear spoken and written communication.
• Friendly and patient when assisting customers.
• Willingness to travel between customer sites.
• Residence within a 10km radius of Durbanville.

Responsibilities

• Attend residential and business customer call-outs.
• Install and replace Wi‑Fi routers and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot fibre, internet and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Perform first-line remote technical support.
• Configure customer routers and basic network equipment.
• Collect and deliver equipment when required.
• Assist with Wi‑Fi and network installations.
• Set up devices for routine network monitoring.
• Liaise with fibre network operators and contractors.
• Keep customers updated clearly and professionally.
• Record completed work and maintain accurate job notes.
• Escalate complex technical problems when necessary.
