Job summary

The Carlysle Human Capital invites applications for a Junior Technical Support Technician to be based permanently at a retirement estate in Pretoria. You will deliver first-line technical support to residents across fibre, Wi‑Fi, CCTV, and DSTV systems, with activations and basic metering tasks.

A 6-month paid training and evaluation programme provides hands-on experience before a permanent appointment, developing networking, customer service, and security-system skills in a telecom environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Valid South African Driver's Licence or in progress.
• Good communication in Afrikaans and English.
• Friendly, professional and well-presented.
• Strong willingness to learn.
• Comfortable working with technology.
• Able to work independently and take ownership.
• Physically fit for indoor and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• First-line Fibre (FTTH) fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Wi-Fi and router setup and support.
• Register new Fibre customers and assist with activations.
• Handle and escalate Level 1 technical support tickets.
• Preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of security/CCTV systems.
• First-line DSTV support and installations.
• Basic troubleshooting of electricity and water smart metering systems.
• Maintain service records and maintenance reports.
• Provide professional and friendly customer service.
• Represent the company professionally on-site.
