Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee threat and risk assessments, client liaison, and manpower and equipment management at our mining division site.

The role requires ensuring contractual compliance, handling investigations, disciplinary processes, and adhering to health and safety policies. You must communicate effectively at all levels and be willing to work long hours with a clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A certification is mandatory.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience as contract manager in mining or similar sector preferred.
• Discipline, criminal and credit record must be clean.

• Threat and Risk assessments.
• Client liaison and professional client relationship management.

• Handling and resolving client complaints efficiently.
• Ensuring contractual requirements are met at all times.
• Incident investigations and management.
• Compliance with the company disciplinary code.
• Initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings.

• Addressing Security Officers’ reported issues.
• Adherence to BPC policies and procedures.
• After-hours visits and standby duties.

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• PSIRA certification – Grade A;
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
• Relevant experience as a Contract Manger in the Mining Division or similar position would be advantageous;
• illegal mining and investigations and intelligence experience;
• Firearm competency for handgun and shotgun;
• Risk analyzing skills would be advantageous;
• Bilingual (English and any other South African Language);
• The ability to communicate and present at all levels;
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills;
• Working knowledge of MS office;
• The ability to work under pressure;
• Willing to work long hours;
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
• Own Transport
• Code 08 driver’s license and valid PDP;
