Bidvest Protea Coin in South Africa is seeking an experienced Security Manager for mining environments. You will lead security operations, conduct threat and risk assessments, liaise with clients, manage manpower and equipment, and ensure adherence to contracts, SOPs and company policies.

Required are Grade 12, 5+ years in mining, PSIRA Grade A, HIRA training, firearm competency, bilingual communication, and strong leadership under pressure. A polygraph readiness and clean record are preferred.

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• 5 years minimum experience in the mining environment.
• Security Management Diploma advantageous.
• SAPS experience will be an advantage.
• PSIRA certification – grade A.
• HIRA and Legal Liability trained.
• Firearm competency and a valid regulation 21 certificate with (9mm, Shotgun, and Rifle).
• Relevant managerial experience in a mining environment.

• Effectively dealing with and managing client complaints.
• Ensure that contractual requirements are always met.
• Initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings.
• Incident and investigations management.
• Ensure compliance to the company’s disciplinary code.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety management.
• Ensuring security officer’s problems that are reported are solved.
• Ensure that all company/client SOP’s are followed.
• Ensure BPC policies and procedures are always followed.
• Ensure that training takes place when required to increase and sustain the performance and productivity of the staff.
• After hour visits and standby duties.
• Completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Assisting with shifts changes as a standby manager.
• Must be able to attend meetings and take calls to assist with the matter of urgency even on rest days.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of good security practice covering the physical and logical aspects of information products, systems, integrity, and confidentiality.

Educación

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification

Security Management Diploma advantageous

PSIRA certification – grade A

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• 5 years minimum experience in the mining environment
• Security Management Diploma advantageous
• SAPS experience will be an advantage
• Must have experience in investigations of criminal cases and internal mine related cases
• PSIRA certification – grade A
• HIRA and Legal Liability trained
• Firearm competency and a valid regulation 21 certificate with (9mm, Shotgun, and Riffle)
• Relevant experience in a managerial or similar position. Not less than 5 years in a Managerial position in a mining environment
• Must have confidence in dealing with the public and community unrest
• Bilingual (English and any other South African language)
• The ability to work under pressure
• First aid and fire fighting training will be advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate and knowledge of MS Office
• Must be willing to undergo a polygraph test
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record
• Valid Drivers license
