Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a security professional to handle day-to-day operations both surface and underground, respond to incidents and manage crime scenes. The role includes opening SAPS dockets, unrest response, risk management, fleet oversight, and ensuring SOP and disciplinary procedures are followed.

Firearm proficiency and HR liaison are essential components of the position. The candidate should hold PSIRA Grade A, riot control, accredited tactical training, and a security management

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A certification is required.
• Experience with riot control and security management preferred.
• Strong firearm proficiency across handgun, shotgun and rifle.
• Knowledge of criminal procedure acts and legal processes.
• Proficient in standard office software and DMS tools.
• Diploma in Security Management or related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Day to day operational duties surface and underground, responding to incidents.
• Opening of dockets for SAPS and for internal use.
• Crime scene management and evidence handling.
• Attending to unrest situations (labour and community).
• Incident and risk management and reporting.
• Fleet management and asset protection.
• Ensure compliance to the company disciplinary code and SOPs.
• Ensure that court procedures are fulfilled and documented.
• Liaise with HR on disciplinary enquiries and follow up as required.
• Demonstrate firearm proficiency and maintain readiness.

• Ensure that all company SOP’s are followed
• Ensure that court procedures are fulfilled
• Liaise with HR department concerning disciplinary enquiries to ensure fulfilment thereof
• Firearm proficient

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• PSIRA certification Grade A
• Riot Control
• Comp A and Comp B
• Accredited Tactical training
• Diploma in Security management or environment will be an advantage
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Computer skills (DMS and Office)
• Knowledge of the criminal procedure act
• Firearm competency Handgun, shotgun, rifle
• Statement of results with Business Purpose for all firearms
• Will undergo polygraph test as needed
• The ability to communicate and present at all levels
• The ability to work under pressure
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record
• Driver’s licence (Preferably EC1 or EC with PDP)
• Undergo screening process prior to interview, which the candidate needs to be successful in all requirements

Screening process will be as follow:

• Shooting exercise
• Member needs to be successful with all the above to be successful for the selection to continue with the process of MIE screening and polygraph.
