Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Director for the Rustenburg, North West region. You will lead end-to-end logistics, procurement, inventory, and distribution, driving efficiency and profitability in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will manage a skilled team, negotiate with 3PLs and suppliers, implement advanced SCM technologies, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across the operation.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is looking for a highly experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director to oversee all aspects of logistics and distribution operations for the Rustenburg, North West region. This senior leadership position demands a visionary leader capable of optimizing the entire supply chain, from procurement and inventory management to warehousing and final-mile delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing cutting-edge supply chain solutions, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely and reliable delivery of products to market. You will lead a dedicated team of supply chain professionals, foster strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners, and contribute significantly to the company's operational excellence and profitability. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives for the Rustenburg, North West area.
• Oversee all logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and demand planning.
• Optimize supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve delivery times.
• Manage and negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and suppliers to secure competitive rates and service levels.
• Implement and leverage advanced supply chain technologies and systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP) to improve visibility and control.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the supply chain operations.
• Develop and manage the supply chain budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving financial performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and procurement departments to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations, with a significant portion in the FMCG industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain operations and driving significant cost reductions.
• Extensive experience with transportation management, warehouse operations, and inventory control.
• Strong understanding of supply chain software and technologies (ERP, WMS, TMS).
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and motivate teams.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field is essential; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of the operational landscape in Rustenburg, North West, and surrounding areas is a significant advantage.
