Qualifications

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with significant FMCG sector exposure.
• Proven experience developing and implementing national or international supply chain strategies.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and international trade.
• Experience with supply chain software and technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the FMCG industry, is seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain & Logistics Director to optimize their operations from their base in Centurion, Gauteng . This leadership role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods, from procurement to delivery, across the entire value chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge supply chain strategies, managing complex logistics networks, and driving operational excellence. We are looking for a visionary leader with a deep understanding of global supply chain best practices and a proven ability to manage large-scale operations within the fast-moving consumer goods sector. This position demands exceptional analytical skills, strategic foresight, and robust leadership capabilities to manage a diverse team and achieve ambitious operational goals. The location in Centurion, Gauteng , provides a central hub for managing national and potentially international logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and service level improvements.
• Oversee all aspects of supply chain management, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
• Optimize logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers and retail partners.
• Implement and manage advanced supply chain technologies and systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP integration).
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain and logistics team.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and other external partners.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, utilizing data analytics and lean methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Manage the supply chain budget, identify cost-saving opportunities, and achieve operational efficiencies.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with a significant portion within the FMCG sector.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies on a national or international scale.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and international trade.
• Demonstrated experience with supply chain software and technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
