Job summary

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Supervisor: Mobile Equipment to join a mining operation in the Northern Cape. You will oversee maintenance and repair of earth moving machines, manage a maintenance team, control costs, and drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

The role requires at least five years of mobile equipment experience in mining, supervisory exposure, and relevant certificates; a valid driver's license and knowledge of CAT 789/777 equipment are

Qualifications

• Five (5) years operational mobile equipment experience in a mining maintenance environment.
• Two (2) years team / project leader / supervisory experience in a mining maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repair of mobile equipment (Earth Moving Machines) for optimal performance and availability.
• Oversee contractor operations ensuring safety, quality and performance standards.
• Manage and control budget and costs for the mobile equipment section.
• Lead and develop a maintenance team fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency and safety.
• Ensure SHERQ standards and policies are followed within mobile equipment.

Our client in the mining industry is looking for a skilled Supervisor Mobile Equipment to join their team in the Northern Cape. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, including Earth Moving Machines, while ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate will lead a maintenance team, manage costs, drive continuous improvement, and uphold high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, including Earth Moving Machines (Loading, Hauling, Drilling, and Auxiliary), ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Oversee contractor operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Manage and control budget and costs for the mobile equipment section, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Supervise, lead, and develop a team of maintenance personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety.
• Ensure adherence to SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) standards and policies within the mobile equipment section.
• Promote and uphold high work ethics, encouraging accountability, integrity, and professionalism within the team.

Experience and Qualifications

• Grade 12.
• Engineering Technical Trade Test (Diesel Mechanic/ Auto Electrician/ Millwright - MQA preferred).
• Engineering Technical Theoretical Certificate N3.
• Supervisory Certificate (NQF level 4 160 Credits).
• Minimum of five (5) years operational mobile equipment experience in a mining maintenance environment.
• Minimum of two (2) years team / project leader / supervisory experience in a mining maintenance environment (Recommended).
• Driver's License.
• CAT 789C and D dump truck.
• CAT 777D and G water bowsers.
• Mobile compressors, generators and lighting plants.
