Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required with a Technical Electrical background.
• Electrical Trade Test (MQA preferred) and First Line Supervision experience.
• Minimum four years in an operational mining/maintenance environment.
• Minimum three years in a team/project leadership or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Drive electrical availability, reliability, productivity and safety through team leadership.
• Supervise maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize operations.

Our client, a leading organization in the mining industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join their team in the Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the implementation of engineering practices and experience with tools such as JD Edwards (or an equivalent system), Dynamic Production Monitoring System, Active Factory Tool, Achiever, Isometrics, and QlikView.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and ensure the optimum availability, reliability, productivity, and safety of plant and equipment from an electrical perspective through team management.
• Supervise and manage maintenance activities to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime.
• Oversee contractor management to ensure compliance with standards and timely execution of work.
• Control budgets and manage costs effectively to ensure financial targets are met.
• Provide supervision and leadership to the team, fostering a high-performance work environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
• Ensure strict adherence to SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) standards and regulations.

Education and Qualifications Requirements

• Grade 12.
• Engineering Technical Trade Test in Electrical (MQA preferred).
• First Line Supervision.
• Minimum of four (4) years operational Mining / Maintenance environment experience.
• Minimum of three (3) year's Team / Project leader / Supervisory experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Computer Literacy - Intermediate user of MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Diagnostic - Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Statutory Knowledge
• ER knowledge.
• Familiarity with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Knowledge of all relevant COPs and SOPs.
• Understanding of ISO Standards.
• HT Switching.
• Management - Completion of company-preferred Management Development Programmes.

• Working knowledge of all SHERQ-related policies, practices, and procedures.
