Job summary

The University of the Free State invites applications for A_STEP Intern (6 positions) in Student Success. This contract appointment runs for 1 year at the Bloemfontein Campus, FS ZA, with a closing date of 5 November 2026.

Responsibilities include tutor data management, venue coordination, session planning, attendance capture in Oracle, and assisting with research initiatives and evaluations. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree and be available for the full internship period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree on NQF Level 7 (attach a copy).
• Applicant should not currently participate in an existing learnership/internship programme.
• SAQA accreditation for foreign qualifications must be included if applicable.
• Availability for a 1-year learnership/internship period.

Responsibilities

• Compile a database with full details of tutors.
• Assist with ad hoc problem-solving where venues are concerned.
• Book venues and schedule online links for tutorials and training.
• Resolve venue and online tutorial challenges.
• Assist tutors in modules with session plans and planning.
• Capture attendance data on Oracle for reporting and research.
• Provide feedback to tutors during observations.
• Assist with ad hoc tutor payment claims.
• Liaise with tutors and develop an evaluation schedule each semester.
• Distribute, collect, scan and capture evaluation forms for reporting.
• Assist with portfolio assessments and Blackboard submissions.
• Assist the programme with research initiatives.
