Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Structural Technologist to join our client in Benoni, Gauteng. You will translate design concepts into detailed construction drawings and specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.

The role requires a strong practical understanding of structural systems, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and a solid grasp of SA building codes. You will collaborate with architects and contractors to deliver safe, compliant projects on time.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or B-Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Pr Tech Eng or Pr Techni Eng registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design and detailing, preferably in buildings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
• Experience with Prokon or similar structural analysis software is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of SANS codes and SA construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in structural design and detailing of building components using steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Prepare detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications under a Professional Engineer.
• Use CAD and structural analysis software to produce documentation.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure design compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and consultants to resolve queries.
• Perform structural calculations and checks as required.
• Maintain project records and documentation.
• Provide technical support to the team and assist in reports.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to reports.
