Job summary

Durbanville Classifieds is seeking a Civil Technician to join our structural engineering team in the Western Cape region. The role focuses on design and detailing of structural elements, using AutoCAD and Revit to produce precise drawings and reports.

You will assist with detailing, inspections, and coordination with engineers and contractors to ensure designs are implemented accurately on site. An opportunity to grow skills in a dynamic engineering environment awaits.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Structural Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in a structural engineering environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant structural design and drafting software; Revit is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of SANS standards, building regulations and engineering best practices.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to sites when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical drawings and plans using CAD and related software.
• Assist with design and detailing of structural elements including beams, columns, foundations and slabs.
• Conduct site inspections, measurements and assist with structural assessments.
• Liaise with engineers, architects and contractors to ensure correct interpretation of designs.
• Review construction drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Assist with preparation of structural reports, material quantities and project documentation.
• Monitor construction progress and support quality control.
