Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, seeks a Warehouse Inventory Planner to optimize stock, forecast demand, and drive cost efficiency in the warehouse.

You will collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations to balance inventory levels, track turnover, and implement improvements using SAP APO, Oracle SCM, or JDA.

The role requires a 4+ year track record in inventory planning, strong analytics, and APICS CPIM is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain analysis.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle SCM, JDA).
• Proven experience with inventory management techniques and best practices.
• APICS CPIM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute inventory planning strategies to meet demand while minimizing costs.
• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to forecast product demand accurately.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to align inventory plans with business objectives.
• Manage inventory levels across multiple stock keeping units (SKUs) to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
• Monitor inventory turnover, identify slow-moving or obsolete stock, and recommend disposition strategies.
• Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Utilize inventory management software and planning tools to optimize stock levels and replenishment.
• Analyze variances between planned and actual inventory levels and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management processes.
• Prepare regular inventory reports, including forecast accuracy, stock levels, and potential risks.
