Job summary

Placements24 seeks a meticulous Warehouse Operations Planner for Paarl, Western Cape. The role drives daily to monthly warehouse plans, optimizes space, and ensures accurate stock through cycle counts and targeted replenishment.

You will coordinate with procurement and sales, schedule inbound/outbound shipments, and monitor performance metrics to improve efficiency. The ideal candidate has a degree in logistics or similar, 3+ years in warehouse planning, and strong Excel/WMS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in warehouse operations planning or inventory management.
• Strong understanding of warehouse processes: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for planning, data analysis, and reporting.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a warehouse.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with wine industry or export logistics is a plus for Paarl location.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse operational plans to meet production and customer demand.
• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies to maintain stock accuracy.
• Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring efficient use of transportation resources.
• Monitor warehouse performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
• Supervise warehouse staff as needed to ensure operational plans are executed effectively.
• Liaise with third-party logistics providers as necessary.
• Maintain accurate operational records and generate relevant reports for management.
