Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering, project management, and design.
• Proficiency in traffic analysis software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA) and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of transport planning principles, traffic operations, and road design standards.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Experience working on projects within Durban or the wider KwaZulu-Natal region is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of transportation infrastructure projects (Durban and KwaZulu-Natal).
• Develop traffic studies, transport models, and feasibility analyses.
• Oversee preparation of design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure success.
• Champion sustainable and innovative transportation solutions.
• Conduct site visits and provide construction support as needed.
• Ensure designs comply with national and local standards in Durban.
